Each year the USAFP Clinical Investigation Committee sponsors a research competition and a call for projects. Abstracts were submitted from each of the 15 military family medicine residencies and many other military installations both CONUS and OCONUS.

The highest scoring abstracts are accepted in the categories of clinical investigation, educational research or case report. Approximately 20 presentations and 20 posters are accepted for the juried research competition each year.

Depending on format selection, further submission requirements may include written paper, poster display presentation, and/or an oral presentation at the Symposium. Of note, typically 25-35% of USAFP submissions go on to publication in the peer-reviewed literature.
