Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How does this process work?
Mentors/Mentees enter their information into the Enrollment Form.  Within two weeks, you will receive an e-mail confirming your match.  If you do not hear anything within two weeks, please reach out to usafpmentor@gmail.com.  The timeframe for enrollment is around the USAFP Annual Meeting each spring and the relationship is designed to exist for one year and will reset each year in the spring prior to the USAFP Annual Meeting.  Mentor/Mentee dyads are welcome to continue for more than one year outside of this program.

How are mentor and mentee matches made?
Mentor/mentee dyads are matched based primarily upon the qualities sought by mentees. We use the information from the intake surveys to provide mentors who have as many of the qualities sought by a mentee as possible.

How many mentees can I mentor in this program?
Up to 3 per mentor.

Can I be both a mentor and a mentee?
Absolutely! The intake survey will ask you to state whether you want to serve as a mentor, mentee, or both.

I am an O-6 – do you have mentors for me?
It is our goal to offer mentors for all who participate in the program. For O-6’s, this may include officers of Flag rank and retirees. Sometimes this requires a bit more coordination, so please bear with us if creating your match requires a bit more time.
